The British sponsor must meet the minimum income threshold and the Thai applicant must pass an English language test (typically A1 for the initial visa, then A2 and B1 for extensions and settlement). Priority service is available for an additional Home Office fee.

Permits entry for up to six months for the purpose of marrying a British citizen during that window. After marriage, the Thai partner must switch to the Family visa (spouse route) from inside the UK to remain. The visa cannot be used for tourism or family visit; intent to marry within six months must be evidenced. The same financial and English language requirements apply as for spouse visa.

Permits stays up to 6 months for tourism, family visits, and short business meetings under one umbrella. Insufficient financial evidence and weak ties to Thailand are the main refusal reasons. Apply 90 to 60 days before travel; less than 30 days lead time is too tight. Priority service shortens the decision wait but does not bypass document review.

Filed under the Standard Visitor visa with the business activity declared on the application. Permitted activities include meetings, conferences, training delivered to or by the visitor, and contract negotiations. Permitted Paid Engagements are a separate sub-category for paid academic or arts activities. Standard Visitor for business does not allow taking up employment with a UK employer.
