Schengen Type C business visas cover meetings, trade fairs, conferences, and short professional events for stays up to 90 days within any 180-day window. The applying embassy is the country where the main business activity takes place. A formal invitation letter from the European host (with company details, dates, purpose, and financial responsibility) is the central document. Trade fair visits typically also require a fair registration confirmation. The Schengen business visa does not authorize paid work in Europe; for that case the destination country's national long-stay D visa applies.

The B1 business visa covers meetings, conferences, contract negotiations, and short professional activities. Most applications are issued as a combined B1/B2 visa, which also covers tourism. The Bangkok consulate evaluates the genuine business purpose and the applicant's ties to Thailand at interview. Salary continues to be paid by the Thai employer; B1 does not authorize US-source wages. Long-term work, training programs, and intracompany transfers require different visa categories (H, L, O) which are filed initially with USCIS in the United States.

UK business visits are filed under the Standard Visitor visa with the business activity declared on the application. Permitted activities include meetings, conferences, training delivered to or by the visitor, and contract negotiations. Permitted Paid Engagements are a separate sub-category for paid activities like academic or arts engagements, with a different evidence package. Standard Visitor for business does not allow taking up employment with a UK employer; for that case the Skilled Worker route or Senior or Specialist Worker route applies.

The M visa covers commercial and trade activities in mainland China for stays typically up to 30, 60, or 90 days per entry depending on case. An invitation letter from a Chinese host company is the central document; some cases also require a duplicate invitation issued by an authorized Chinese government body. The M visa is for trade and short business activity, not employment; for working in China the Z visa applies and follows a different process involving a work permit issued before visa application. Hong Kong and Macau are separate jurisdictions.

Short business meetings and conferences in Japan up to 15 days are covered by the visa-free entry available to Thai passport holders. For activities beyond 15 days, structured business visits, or accompanying family, a Japan business visa is filed at the Japanese Embassy or via VFS Global Bangkok. Documents include the invitation letter from the Japanese host, schedule of activities, and financial guarantee. Long-term work assignments require separate Status of Residence categories (Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services, Intra-company Transferee, Business Manager) sponsored by the Japanese employer.

The Canada Business Visitor category sits within the TRV (Temporary Resident Visa). Permitted activities include meetings, conferences, trade shows, after-sales service, and training when the worker remains paid by the foreign employer. Activities that compete with the Canadian labor market or that involve hands-on work require a work permit instead. The TRV application emphasizes ties to Thailand, financial sufficiency, and a clear business itinerary. Multi-entry visas are now standard for most approved cases.
